SEMDATEX and Preventicus announce strategic partnership for remote cardiac care in Germany

The partnership combines established offerings for early detection, diagnostics and remote cardiac care. Initial joint implementation steps focus on Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt in autumn 2026.

Berlin / Jena, 8 October 2026 – Berlin-based SEMDATEX GmbH and Jena-based Preventicus GmbH announce a strategic partnership to further develop digital cardiac care in Germany. The aim is to more closely connect existing offerings in primary and secondary prevention and to make comprehensive, structured cardiac care more easily accessible to patients.

The partnership brings together the capabilities of two established providers across early detection, diagnostics and remote cardiac care. Preventicus contributes its experience as a managed care provider; SEMDATEX contributes its diagnostic solutions and platforms for cardiac telemonitoring. It is designed for the long term and will be expanded step by step with further care modules. The initial focus is on atrial fibrillation and heart failure.

Preventicus has for years delivered digital care programmes that combine smartphone-based early detection of atrial fibrillation with structured medical ECG diagnostics. 23 health insurers already use and reimburse the special care programme for stroke prevention. SEMDATEX contributes, among other things, the net_ECG long-term ECG system with AI-supported pre-analysis and the inCareNet care platform for remote monitoring in heart failure.

Through coordinated technology, analysis services and care workflows, participating cardiology practices can use suitable systems across both care models. This is intended to make established diagnostics and care more easily accessible to patients. Practices gain additional ways to use their existing equipment; health insurers can make established offerings available through further practices and make efficient use of existing care structures.

A first concrete implementation step is the integration of net_ECG into the existing Preventicus programmes for up to 14-day atrial fibrillation diagnostics. This expands the diagnostic options within the ongoing programmes. The regional focus in autumn 2026 is initially on Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt, where SEMDATEX works with cardiology practices and telemedicine centres. Further joint modules for continuous cardiovascular care are envisaged going forward.

“Remote cardiac care in Germany has grown module by module. With Preventicus we want to connect these modules more closely and expand existing care pathways step by step. What matters is that this creates practical benefit for patients and for their treating practices,” says Dr Volker Leonhardt, CEO of SEMDATEX GmbH.

“What matters to us is that insured members have a reliable path from early detection to medical diagnostics. Our programmes have been offering that path for years. Together with SEMDATEX we make it easier for further practices to participate, and we create additional opportunities for health insurers to care for their members through established structures. In this way we make established care more broadly accessible,” says Dr Thomas Hübner, CEO of Preventicus GmbH.
